I am always a sucker for anything with a little bit of a rock and roll edge, or slightly tomboyish….so as you can see I have listed all the most wonderful pieces right now with metal embellishments that I just can’t get enough of!
I don’t think I need to say anything about the shoes, they are clearly my favorite shoe I may have ever seen!! Which of course are Balmain!
Eddie Borgo necklace and bracelet above, and the shirt…. point of inspiration! You will have to find your own silver collared gem!
Military Chic, military Chic and more military chic! I can’t get enough and the fashion world can’t quite seem to get enough either! Not only is the military jacket the new leather jacket and is a staple in my wardrobe, but its being worn in a plethora of ways and its not just the jacket! Army green is a huge color for Spring and Fall, and its being shown in everything from tee’s on Balmain’s runway, to pants on Chloe’s, and shown below you see Marc Jacobs, Balmain, Charlotte Ronson, and one of my new favorites Richard Chai.
The jacket is an essential and if you don’t have one, start looking for one now! I know that I am a huge fan of vintage but in this case, the easiest way to find the jacket your looking for is to go to a military surplus store, or do some flea market hunting. If you want a more chic version and your not a fan of the vintage I suggest looking to Rag and Bone, Richard Chai, or Marc Jacobs for the perfect military jacket!
As always though, I suggest finding, and purchasing your must have military jacket ASAP!

Trend of the moment
Lace up booties. They were a staple on Balmain, and Alexander Wang’s runway. It’s no surprise that these two amazing designers are definite trend setters. The lace up bootie….let’s face it, is a super hot shoe! Balancing the perfect amount of masculine and feminine, they go with everything! My favorite outfit for the lace up bootie is keeping it super simple with a vintage tee, some jeans or maybe even some leggings. This is definitely a shoe to go out and start looking for right now, a definite wardrobe staple for spring.

As the Christmas tree comes down and the bottles begin to line up for New Years we begin to move away from the darker tones of winter and into the brights of Spring. Now I know what you are thinking, WHAT?!? Spring already!!!! I just finished paying off that new winter must have. Well such is the world of fashion, out with the old and in with the new, and Welcome Spring 2010.
Of course there are numerous trends to look for this coming season. but I found that Stella McCartney’s Spring 2010 collection worked well as a snapshot of trends in action:

Pastels and Lace:
This spring look for both sophisticated pastels as well as feminine ruffles and lace. I am obsessed with this first outfit for both reasons, combining the sexuality of a dark skirt with a top of lacy detail on pastel creates a look that is both sexy and refined with a touch of spring.
White On:
Although spring is about bursts of colors, this year we are going to see lots of White, from Bottega Veneta to Karl Lagerfeld White is Right for Spring. I love Stella’s White romper, perfect for that Spring Fling.
Something Different:
This black piece with a plunging neck line offers something different for those cool spring nights. Although white is going to be hot this spring, an airy black ensemble can be the piece de resistance to a perfect evening.
Nouveau Prints:
This is wear it is at this spring. Wild prints are all the rage, florals, ikat, tribal, you name it and going overboard is right on par with what’s hot this spring. That being said I love Stella McCartney’s understated floral dress. Say more by saying less, sometimes the best way to be heard is to whisper, not to scream.
Utilitarian Chic:
I once had a camel hair coat similar to this that I bequeathed to a friend and boy do I miss it now. In the vein of spring pastels, sandy beige trenches and military get-ups will be storming the fashion front Spring 2010. Although I loved Chloé’s creamy cape and pocket outfit and of course Balmain’s military chic, I am obsessed with the simplicity of this trench by Stella McCartney. In fact, I love love loved almost all of her Spring 2010 utilitarian pieces, especially the beige blazer coupled with high waisted cream shorts and belt (not pictured).
Back to Black:
I included this outfit because you know how I love a good all black get up, even in spring. Again I am obsessed with the plunging neck line, the bold shoulder, and the lacy disposition of the top, all in all, a strong, sexy, fun springtime meets night time outfit.
These are just a couple of good examples of things to watch for in Spring 2010. To see more of this collection visit stellamccartney.com.
